    Head of the Red Sea Festival to “Asharq Al-Awsat”: We will support the sector

    Saudi cinema is heading to occupy a distinguished position on the map of world cinema, as revealed by Muhammad Al-Turki, during an exclusive interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, on the occasion of his selection as CEO of the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation, whose second session will be held from December 1 to 10 (December 10). ) Next, in the city of Jeddah.

    Al-Turki attributed this to the characteristics of Saudi cinema in terms of features, language and a different cultural and social context, considering this the fuel of global flare. He stated that the flourishing journey of Saudi cinema is still going on. And about his vision for his new position, Al-Turki says: “My task now, being at the head of the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation, is to encourage art and creativity, and to provide full support to filmmakers, both in the Kingdom and in the rest of the world.” Al-Turki promised the filmmakers of support during The next session of the festival, and overcoming the challenges facing this industry, and showed that the Red Sea’s special programs, namely: The Red Sea Fund and the Sea Laboratory, are directed in particular to filmmakers, with support and encouragement, on the financial and technical levels.

    Al-Turki spoke about the upcoming edition of the festival, saying: “We are working in full swing, planning and preparing, and we promise that the surprises will live up to the hopes and expectations.”
