She said that she discovered herself as a comedian in “Kid Al Harem.”
While the Egyptian artist, Rogina, looks at the Arab audience during the Ramadan season with a tragic character through the Egyptian series “Aberration”, she appears in a comic framework in the Kuwaiti series “Kid Al Harem”. In her interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, Rogina revealed her psychological and mental suffering during the embodiment of her character in the series “Deviation”. And the text of the conversation:
Poster for the series “Deviation”… and the series “Kid Al Harem”
> What is the nature of your role in the series “Deviation”?
– I do not have the right to talk at length about my role in the series “Deviation”, but it revolves within a social framework about Egyptian women’s issues, as the series is not entirely inspired by the author’s imagination, but is derived from real stories and facts that Egyptian women lived in the courts, and its message is to support women, He urged her to resist all the problems and circumstances of life.
> Why are you excited to present the series’ lead?
The series “Deviation” is a very important project, and I consider it one of the most important series that I presented in my artistic career, because it discusses the problems and issues of Egyptian women from their roots, so I thank the author Mostafa Chehayeb and director Raouf Abdel Aziz for their adherence to me, and their belief in my representative abilities in embodying the character of women in The series, in addition to my great happiness with my cooperation with the artist Samiha Ayoub, the artist Abdel Aziz Makhyoun, and the artist Ahmed Fouad Selim, because they are great artistic statures, and their agreement to participate in the work stems from their belief in my talent, which is something I place above my head, and I thank them for.
> Have you finished filming the series?
Filming of the series will continue until the middle of Ramadan. We work most hours of the day continuously, and I pray to God to help us and to be able to finish filming on our appointed time.
> You have stated on several occasions that you do not like embodying the character of a weak woman… Why?
– Throughout my artistic career that spanned more than 30 years, I did not underestimate the character of a weak or broken woman, because I do not believe at all in that character. The series “Deviation” because it is inspired by true stories, which are taking place in the corridors of the Egyptian courts.
> What are the details of your role in the Kuwaiti series “Kid Al Harem”?
I embody the character of “Sumaya”, whose husband dies after a period of marriage, so fate allows her lover, the role presented by the great Kuwaiti artist Abdul Imam Abdullah, to propose to her for marriage, after he waited for her for several years to fulfill his dream of marrying her, and from here the comic events and situations explode , where many try to cause Sumaya to get into many problems and crises, but because of her closeness to God and her kindness, she succeeds in turning the table on all those who hate her, and she comes out as the winner in the end.
> Does this mean that there is no similarity between the two works in the two Ramadan series?
The series “Kid Al Harem” is completely different from the series “Deviation”, as it is an enjoyable and delicious experience, through which I return to present the comic character that I have not presented for decades. My comedic experiences are very scarce. Indeed, I loved the “Kid of the Harem” experience, and discovered myself as a good comedian.
I would like to thank producer Adel Yahya, author Fahd Al Balushi and director Mustafa Fekry, for choosing me to star in the series. All the workers in the series welcomed me wonderfully, and made me feel that I was in Egypt and not in Kuwait, so I bet in the series a new expression, which is “Ya Hanin.” And I hope that he will achieve the same great success that he achieved before through the term “Ya Omari” in the series “Al-Prince” with Mohamed Ramadan.
> And how do you evaluate your last theatrical experience, “Oh, I’ll Play Ya Oghlus” in the Riyadh season?
It was a special experience, as it was presented on the stage of the late Muhammad Al-Ali theater, in the studio area of ”Boulevard Riyadh City”, and directed by my husband, the artist Ashraf Zaki, the captain of the Egyptian acting professions, and it is the first experience that brings us together for a long time in which he is the leader, as I loved the participation of the stars of “Egypt Theater”, along with Ahmed Rizk and Mohamed Tharwat.
