    Performances from the past and present, looking forward to the future, and a Saudi celebration

    Yesterday (Friday), the cities of the Emirates witnessed official and popular celebrations on the 51st National Day, which falls on December 2 of each year, in which state institutions, private sector companies, citizens and residents participated, where popular and lyrical events were held, while the Bank participated The Central Bank issued a new denomination of one thousand dirhams (272 dollars) on the sidelines of the celebrations.

    His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, said yesterday: “The second of December is the day of the most precious and beautiful homeland, in which Zayed and his brothers rewrote history, with the story of the federation of the Emirates that summed up all meanings of wisdom and determination, and God willing, our country will continue with its firm approach in building and developing for a new stage of Sustaining gains and raising ambitions. Every year and everybody’s okay”.

    For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “The second of December is the beginning of the union, and a renewed beginning every year for the UAE, and the beginning of a coming stage in which energies, efforts and expertise unite to build the best country and make the people of the union happy.” ».

    The 51st Union Day celebrations were organized in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, sheikhs, members of the Federal Supreme Council, rulers of the Emirates, crown princes, deputies, rulers and sheikhs.

    The celebrations were inspired by the cultural heritage of the UAE and its aspirations for the future, as the show provided a glimpse into the country’s future, and the ceremony was considered the largest occasion after the “Corona” pandemic.

    The ceremony witnessed the participation of a thousand students and students of different nationalities in a special march for children, which included stories of pioneers of different generations in the Emirates, through a visual journey that shed light on the generation of pioneers, who made significant contributions in 6 main areas, namely marine sciences, environment, agriculture, and space. transportation, and solar energy.

    In addition to aspects related to the environment, customs and traditions of the UAE, which constitute an important part of the local heritage, the visual identity of this year’s Union Day was inspired by the traditional Sadu craft in textile making.

    The show presented 11 poems that reviewed the achievements of the UAE and the stories of its pioneers, in addition to a mixture of traditional Emirati songs and chants and the rhythms of international music.

    Saudi celebration

    Saudi Arabia participated in the UAE’s celebrations of the National Day, by decorating its streets, cities and squares with the flags of the UAE to celebrate the occasion, in a step that reflects the relations between the two countries at the level of the two leaderships and peoples.

    The Saudi celebration of the UAE National Day comes at a time when the relations between the two countries are witnessing a strategic development within the framework of their common vision to advance bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation relations in various fields in order to achieve the common strategic interests between the two countries and peoples, and their keenness to support joint Gulf action, and this development is represented in the intensification of consultations. Contacts and mutual visits at the summit level, and agreement to form a joint supreme committee between the two countries to implement the strategic visions of the leadership of the two countries to reach broader and more prosperous, secure and stable horizons, and coordinate to face the challenges in the region.

    And through their joint and continuous work to expand areas of cooperation in various vital sectors, they contribute to advancing the development process in the region towards new horizons, and they continue to develop this strategic partnership according to a clear vision led by the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council since its establishment 4 years ago, which oversaw the launch of development plans. And qualitative initiatives and projects that have a fundamental role in generating a wealth of commercial, investment and development opportunities for the business sector in the two countries and at the level of the Gulf region and the Arab world.

    Saudi Arabia is the first trading partner of the UAE at the level of the Arab countries, and the third at the global level. Non-oil foreign trade between the UAE and Saudi Arabia has grown by 92.5 percent over the past ten years, at a time when the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached during the first half of this year 65.7 billion dirhams ($17.74 billion), according to the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics.

    The Kingdom occupies the fourth position in the list of trading partners of the UAE during the past ten years, with an estimated value of 904.3 billion dirhams ($ 246.1 billion), accounting for 5.6 percent of the UAE’s total trade exchange with the world during the period from 2012-2021.

    Trade and investment cooperation between the two countries includes vital and strategic sectors, such as innovation, technology and industry, services and logistics, food security, tourism, mining, oil and natural gas, real estate, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and the financial and insurance sectors.
