“National Shield Forces”… a new Yemeni military formation under the command of Al-Alimi

A day after the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, returned to Aden; As the temporary capital of the country, he issued a presidential decree stipulating the formation of a new military force under his direct command, which he called the “National Shield Forces.” He also issued a decree appointing a commander for this new formation.
Al-Alimi’s decision to form the new military force comes in the context of building the forces of the Yemeni army, which consists of many military formations that the Supreme Military and Security Committee is working on restructuring, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Defense.
