Yesterday morning (Wednesday), the Kuwaiti authorities released about 100 prisoners included in the Amiri amnesty, whose number is about 595 prisoners.

About 100 Kuwaitis, illegal residents and expatriates were released, while 250 prisoners received a reduction of their sentences or a waiver of their fines. In front of the gate of the central prison in the Sulaibiya area, where the prisoners were released at exactly ten o’clock in the morning, a large number of families flocked to receive their released sons.

The Correctional Institutions Sector and the Execution of Judgments implemented the Emiri amnesty decision against the released persons, according to the legal controls that had been determined, and the released expatriates will be handed over to the Deportation Department for deportation to their countries.
