In the wake of the latest missile attack in Erbil, a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office stated that Al-Kazemi confirmed in a telephone conversation with Nechirvan Barzani that “our heroic armed forces will pursue the perpetrators of the cowardly attack.”

As for Barzani, he said in a statement that “sufficiency in condemning these attacks does not work,” calling on Baghdad to “work through coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Regional Government to prevent their recurrence.”

In addition, the Iraqi army continued its operations against members of the “Izdkhan Forces” known as “Al-Yabsha” and loyal to the Turkish Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Yazidi-dominated Sinjar district.
