The administration of the Federation is heading to resolve the file of the renewal of the player Ziad Al-Sahafi with the conclusion of his international participation with the Saudi Green, amid efforts to secure all the player’s requirements to reach a compromise formula that would enable the player to remain within the team’s battalion during the next three years.
The journalist is in the free period that allows him to move to any club without referring to the federation, whose contract expires next June, amid the interest of a number of Saudi Professional League clubs, including Al Hilal and Al Nasr, to contract with the player in the event that he does not reach an agreement with his club.
It is expected that the administration of the Federation will meet in the coming hours with the journalist and his agent to resolve the renewal file and close it early to avoid the scenario of delay in resolving the renewal file for Saud Abdul Hamid, who joined Al Hilal during the last winter transfers.
It is expected that the meeting will discuss the federal offer submitted to the player, as well as the privileges that he will enjoy in his new contract to reach a satisfactory contractual formula for both parties before the official signing, which the federations are looking forward to to close the door to the clubs that wish to contract with him.
On the other hand, the federations are awaiting the return of the Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazy from Germany to Jeddah to complete the player’s program for the third and final phase of rehabilitation after the injury he sustained in the last African Nations in Cameroon and was diagnosed in the connective muscle. Yesterday, Ivan Martinez, the Spaniard, left Jeddah for Germany to meet with the medical team treating the international Hegazy, who oversaw the player’s treatment program in the past two phases, and developed a plan for the final rehabilitation and preparation program, which will precede the player’s return to the team’s team training.
The German medical team supervised the first and second phases of the treatment program for the injury that Hegazy suffered, while the technical staff, led by Romanian coach Cosmin Contra, is counting on Hegazy’s speedy return to the stadiums to be ready to participate with the team in the remaining matches for him in the current sports season.
On the technical level, doubts are swirling about the participation of the Brazilian Bruno Henrique, the player of the Al-Ittihad team, against Al-Fayhaa in the confrontation that will bring the two teams together in the King’s Cup semi-final on April 4th. Henrique felt some pain in the face of the previous packages, so the technical staff preferred to impose a fitness program for the player with the aim of reaching full readiness to participate with the team in the remaining matches of the sports season. According to the information received, the player will enter group training during the next few days, and will be on the team’s list in the crucial match against Al-Fayhaa.
Coronado suffered an injury that prevented him from participating with the team since last December, before returning to Al-Hazm in the match in which he participated for 29 minutes, in the 25th round of the Saudi Professional League.
Al-Ittihad is missing in front of Al-Fayhaa the services of the trio Ahmed Hegazy, Muhannad Al-Shanqiti and Omar Hawsawi for injury, as the trio continues its treatment and rehabilitation programs in preparation for returning to participate in group training, and if the latter is close to participating in group training, his participation in front of Al-Fayhaa will depend on the extent of his technical readiness.
The Romanian coach Cosmin Contra was keen during the last period to follow up on the recent confrontations with his rival Al-Fayhaa, and to write down the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses to be used in drawing up the tactical methodology, in addition to working on preparing the preparatory program for the team during the month-long pause.
According to the information received by Asharq Al-Awsat, coach Contra preferred not to set up an external preparatory camp for the team after the end of the Fayhaa confrontation, and to be satisfied with a preparatory program for the team in the club’s stronghold in Jeddah, with directing the team’s administrative staff to coordinate 3 friendly matches during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to be able to determine the players’ readiness. Before returning to play the remaining five matches for the team in the league against (Al-Fateh, Al-Hilal, Al-Tai, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Batin).
Al-Ittihad is at the top of the league standings with 60 points, 11 points behind its closest rival, Al-Hilal, after winning the last 5 matches in the league after it stumbled in a tie against Al-Taawon in the 21st round.
