The Theater and Performing Arts Authority revealed, in a press conference held the day before yesterday (Sunday), the details of the musical show “Our Commentaries are the Extension of Glory”, which the authority is organizing to celebrate the founding day, which is the anniversary of the founding of the Saudi state, which falls on the date of February 22. ) each year.
The work is supervised by the poet Prince Abd al-Rahman bin Musaed, and with the participation of a group of Saudi poets who matched the most famous Arabic commentators in the history of Arabic poetry, and weaved along the lines of poetic lengths that celebrate the story of building Saudi Arabia from the first building blocks to its present renaissance.
Prince Abd al-Rahman bin Musaed said that the work was an initial idea that began two years ago, and it is based on keeping up with 10 Arabic commentaries known to Arab poetry, especially in Saudi Arabia, which is a historical land for the Arabic language, and the place of honorable revelation. The civilization of Saudi Arabia and the history of this land, which extends back nearly 16 centuries.
Prince Abdul Rahman praised the new phase in Saudi Arabia, which is witnessing transformations in various fields, including aspects of culture and the arts, and the leadership’s interest in consolidating Saudi culture and supporting the efforts of the cultural sector, describing the work in which more than a thousand people participated as a hero, and it is composed of paintings and 10 stages that begin From the first Saudi state, until the current era, and includes the historical joints that the country knew until it settled on what it is today in terms of civilization, progress and development.
And 10 Saudi poets participated in keeping up with the famous Arab commentators, and conducting a poetic and musical dialogue, in a qualitative experiment, with the participation of specialists in different arts, to complete a different musical theater work for the first time to be implemented in Saudi Arabia, and in the “Marwas” studios, which facilitated the completion of the task inside Saudi Arabia.
For his part, Prince Ahmed bin Sultan (Sahm) said that the work from a musical point of view is witnessing the experience of building a modern musical, and despite the difficulty of the matter at the beginning, the workshops ended up creating musical phrases that are compatible with the idea of the work, and coming up with a musical product that matches the Arabic texts that She is very eloquent, hoping that the work will gain the public’s approval.

For his part, the Saudi director, Amer Al-Hamoud, said that the show is the first lyrical theatrical work, with international specifications, indicating that it is qualitative and implemented for the first time in Saudi Arabia, and the experience will contribute to achieving a major leap in light of the participation of a group of young Saudi cadres, who were close to the details This experiment.
Al-Hamoud indicated that all participants in the work hope that it will live up to the occasion and the anniversary of the founding day of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that it received great production support, which made the participants challenge themselves and their experiences to produce it in a way that suits the taste of the recipient and rises to the name and idea of the work.
In turn, Sultan Al-Bazai, CEO of the Theater and Performing Arts Authority, drew attention to the authority’s efforts in producing major theatrical works and epic works in the Saudi theater, and the importance of activating modern artistic visions in line with the requirements of the stage, stating that the artistic work relied on merging the theatrical situation with music and visual performances. and other arts.
It is scheduled that the national musical will continue to be shown for several days at Princess Noura University, as part of the Saudi celebrations of the founding day, and to enable the largest number of audiences to enjoy this highly anticipated show.
