The segment brings together direct and portfolio foreign investments, profit remittances and legal payments, among other operations.
Foreign trade, or the balance of January, as of the 20th, was negative in US$ 83 billion, with imports of US$ 12,619 billion and exports of US$ 12,536 billion. Exports include US$ 1,388 billion in Advance Exchange Contract (ACC), US$ 2,276 billion in Advance Payment (PA) and US$ 8,872 billion in other entries.

The Brazil registered a positive exchange rate flow of US$ 666 million last week, from January 16 to 20, reported the Central Bank.
The financial channel presented net income of US$ 724 million in the period. This is the result of contributions of US$ 10,101 billion and withdrawals of US$ 9,377 billion.
In foreign trade, the balance of last week was negative in US$ 57 billion, with imports of US$ 3,767 billion and exports of US$ 3,710 billion. In exports, US$ 553 million in ACC, US$ 655 million in advance payment and US$ 2,502 billion in other entries are included.
