Tesla launched its first sales in Thailand, offering its popular Model 3 and Model Y at prices that aim to compete with rivals like Chinese BYD. As online purchases have started, with plans to deliver the vehicles to the buyers in the first quarter of the year that we see.
The Southeast Asian market is increasingly a focus for automakers seeking to expand their sales, especially of electric vehicles.
The company says that the prices vary from 1.76 thousand Thai baht to 2.5 thousand baht (US$50,000 to US$71,000).
Tesla affirmed that it will open its first Service Center and Supercharger station in Thailand in March and plan to have at least 10 installed in the country in 2023.
At 11:03 am (from Brasília), the company’s share recovered 2.35% in the pre-market of the New York Stock Exchange.
