Russian President Vladimir Putin may visit Turkey on April 27 for the inauguration of the country’s first nuclear power plant, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the fourth fair (29).
Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, will be built by the Russian state Rosatom.
“Day 27 [de abril] Maybe there is a chance that Putin will come or we have an online system to connect us”, said Erdogan during an interview with the private channel of Turkey ATV.
Turkey will load the first fuel into the first power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and will officially grant the nuclear facility status on April 27, Erdogan said in a previous announcement on the fourth.
O Kremlin negou na segunda-feira (27) Turkish accounts that Putin was planning to visit Turkey.
The Kremlin said on Saturday that Putin and Erdogan will discuss during a phone call the successful implementation of joint strategic projects in the energy sector, including the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant.
The project of US$ 20 billion and 4,800 megawatts (MW) to build four reactors in the Mediterranean city of Akkuyu will allow Turkey to enter the small club of nations with civil nuclear energy.
