Former coach of Cruzeiro and current commander of Real Valladolid, Paulo Pezzolano was in tears after the club’s relegation to the Second Division of the Spanish Championship. In a collective interview, this Sunday (4), the Uruguayan admitted the “suffering” as a result.
I know moments. People give themselves 100% and this makes us suffer. When you give yourself 100% and see yourself looking for a goal, you suffer. First, peel empathy. Or that sits or torcedor, or that sits or player not dressed. It is necessary to review or that it was done badly, or that it should have been better
Paulo Pezzolano, coach of Real Valladolid
This Sunday, Valladolid needed a victory over Getafe or a defeat in Almería, which also fought against relegation. The Andalusian club was behind the score in the game against Espanyol at 43 minutes from the final stage, but from penalties, equalized or tackled and escaped the rebound.
Next to Valladolid, we are lowered Espanyol and Elche. The competition was defeated by Barcelona, which reached 88 points. Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad will qualify for the Champions League.
Pezzolano left Cruzeiro on March 19 and hit Valladolid on April 4 — 16 days after announcing the departure of Toca da Raposa II. The Uruguayan coach commanded the Spanish team in 11 games — for three wins, three draws and five defeats.

Ronaldo was not playing
This Sunday, Ronaldo, senior partner of the Spanish club, attended the cabins of the José Zorrilla stadium, home of Valladolid and received the game against Getafe.
The phenomenon, which also has the largest share of the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) do Cruzeiro, took over the control of the Spanish club in September 2018. In the 2020/21 season, Valladolid was also lowered. Not the following year, however, I returned to the elite.
