A 3-year-old Palestinian boy died at this second fair (5), reported the Palestinian Ministry of Health, days after being shot by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank. Muhammad Haitham al-Tamimi died despite two efforts to save him, including helicopter transport to a hospital in Israel. He was shot on the night of the fifth fair near the Israeli settlement of Neveh Tzuf, north of Jerusalem.
His father, Haitham Tamimi, said that he would visit or go when he and Muhammad were shot.
“As I hit the car, I heard shots and saw the Israeli soldiers leaving the military tower,” said Tamimi à CNN.
“I looked for Muhammad and I couldn’t credit what I saw. He was shot in the head and there was blood all over his body. I hit my arms and then I realized that I also took a shot in my right shoulder. As people from the village we saw quickly and they took us with their cars. I was there when Israeli ambulances and a helicopter arrived and took Muhammad to the Israeli hospital.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that its troops were firing back at armed men who fired at Neveh Tzuf when they hit two Palestinians, a 3-year-old girl and a man.
The emergency medical teams of the IDF and Magen David Adom (MDA) will treat the two victims and get the heart of the child to beat again, said the MDA at the time.
The baby was then transported, ventilated and in stable conditions, by an IDF helicopter to the Sheba-Tel Hashomer hospital in Israel.
“The IDF regrets the damage to non-combatants and is committed to doing everything in its power to avoid such incidents. The incident is under review”, said the IDF at the sixth fair. The military did not immediately make a new declaration in light of the death of children, aiming at CNN for the declaration of sexta-feira.
The Ministry of Foreign Relations of Palestine condemned the second fair of the assassination of Tamimi as “a stinking crime against humanity” and demanded “an urgent international investigation into this crime and other crimes of assassination of Palestinian children.”
The parent was treated for his bullet wound in a hospital in Ramallah and was released on Sunday. The bullet ferment, he told him, was not doing: “I do not feel physical pain. a dor no mi coração é muito grande.”
