Darcelle XVholder of the Guinness World Record for the oldest drag queen artist, died at the quinta-feira (12) at the age of 92, announced her cabaret in Portland, Oregon, in the United States, on social networks.
“The family of Darcelle XV, along with her cast and crew, is heartbroken to announce that our beloved Darcelle (Walter W. Cole, Sr.) has died 92 years of natural causes,” said Darcelle XV Showplace on Instagram.
“We ask for privacy and patience while everyone processes and suffers in their own way and not at their own pace.”
Darcelle XV was crowned the oldest drag queen by Guinness World Records in 2016.
The Darcelle XV Showplace, which she owned, is “the oldest drag show on the West Coast [dos Estados Unidos]”, according to Guinness.
The next shows will not show “will continue as scheduled in accordance with Darcelle’s wishes”, according to a post on Instagram.
A public memorial is also being planned.
TO CNN I tried to contact Darcelle XV’s family to comment.
