Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, blamed in this sixth fair (9) the Ukrainian forces for bombings that killed civilians in areas alleged to have flooded caused by the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam and hydroelectric plant, in southern Ukraine.
Since the attacks, this was the first official statement by Russia — which currently controls the affected region. Peskov called out the alleged attacks by “barbarians”. Reuters cannot independently verify Peskov’s claims.
Let’s not worry: first, all the work (evacuation) is being carried out under the bombardment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The bombing is relentless. It’s more than a barbaric bombardment. You know the results of the bombardment — among the victims there are dead people, including a pregnant woman. Of course, we always need to mention that this deadly flood was caused by sabotage on the Ukrainian side. More specifically, it was the Ukrainian side that blew up the Kakhovka barrage.

Ukraine, on the other hand, blames Russia for the bombings that hit civilians in the flooded areas. kyiv has not yet commented on the statement by the Moscow spokesperson.
On the fifth fair (8), the Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine reported that nine people were on holiday after bomb attacks during the evacuations of the floods in the city of Kherson, located on the Dnipro river, 60 km away from the Nova Kakhovka barrage.
The attorney general’s office initially affirmed that a person had been killed by the bombing, but later said that no human death had been reported. The authorities blamed Russia for the attacks on civics.
In a statement on Telegram, the Ministry of the Interior reported that the bombardment began “precisely during the evacuation of cities whose houses were flooded.”
A reporter from Reuters in Kherson said that he could hear or that it seemed to be fire from artilharia. Russia, which began its large-scale invasion in February 2022, denied its civil warfare, but has now bombed cities throughout Ukraine.
