The governors are looking for in this sixth fair (27) with President Lula a recomposition of losses in their coffers of about R$ 50 billion, referring to the policy of decontamination of two fuels implemented by the government Jair Bolsonaro.
An estimate was passed to CNN before the meeting with the governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho (MDB).
“The fact is that there is a loss that exceeds R$ 50 billion that needs, without populism, to find a way out”, Helder said to CNN before the meeting
“The ideal on fuels is to build a solution that is free from fiscal and social sensitivity. It is a discussion that will be fair and that is what we are going to present at the meeting. Any size [de recomposição] That it be simplistic is obviously going to mess up the real world and especially not the involvement of third parties, such as the Judicial and Legislative”, he affirmed.
In practice, the governors intend to hear from the government a solution that involves or ends the destruction and the recomposition of two lost values, but they want to avoid a negative impact on the population that could increase two prices that this would cause.
One of the solutions on the table is the application of the item of the law that deconstructed the fuels that provides that the Union compensates states with losses greater than 5% of their revenue. Another is the creation of a compensation fund.
“We, at this moment, are diagnosing an absolutely unsustainable fiscal reality. Some states are beginning to collapse. From then on, it is necessary to analyze the fiscal, financial and political components to build a solution. It is a sensitive guideline that needs to be built with four hands”, Helder affirmed.
The governors will also take priority projects from their states and regions and will ask that they be able to participate in the debate on the tax reform that the government intends to approve this semester.
