The Ministério dos Povos Indígenas created a work group to promote safety and fight crime in the Vale do Javari, in the Amazon, where the indigenist Bruno Pereira and the journalist Dom Phillips were assassinated.
A resolution with a measure was published in the sixth fair (2), in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
The group will be formed by 10 ministries, which will work in partnership with the Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas (Funai) and with the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) to provide measures to combat violence and guarantee territorial security two indigenous peoples living in the area.
Associations of indigenous peoples will also participate in the discussions.
In the next second fair (5), the assassination of Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira completes 1 year.
The police authorities will place the least heard people on suspicion, due to the possible participation in the homicides and the concealment of two corpses.
