From January to July 24 of this year, the dollar registered the greatest depreciation in eight years, with an accumulated fall of 9.05%. The data is from a survey carried out by TradMap.
This terça-feira (25), the operating dollar perto da estabilidade vis-à-vis the real, with a rise of 0.12%, quoted at R$ 4.73, or less patamar in 15 months.
The last major devaluation of the American currency in this time interval was in 2016, when it fell 15.86%.
On the other hand, the year of greatest appreciation of the dollar — since 2010 — was registered in 2020, when the North American currency appreciated by 29.37%.
When analyzing the last 14 years, the Commercial Head of TradeMap, Einar Rivero, the dollar showed eight years of devaluation and six years of appreciation as of July 24 of each year.
“In the period from 2010 to 2023, barely in two opportunities the dollar registered a consecutive recovery in the first three quarters of the year. At the first time of 2011, it ranged from -2.25% in the first quarter, -4.15% in the second quarter and -0.41% in the third quarter as of July 24.”
It occurs for the second time this year, as the dollar returned -2.63% in the first quarter, -5.14% in the second quarter and -1.53% in the third quarter on July 24.
