The Commission for Public Security and Combat against Organized Crime in the Chamber of Deputies intends to analyze 15 requests for the summons of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, at this terça-feira (21). The requirements that Dino proposes to convene to provide clarifications represent 60% of the schedule of the next meeting of the collegiate at this time.
The collegiate is chaired by federal deputy Ubiratan Sanderson (PL-RS), one of the main voices of opposition to the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in Câmara. The tendency is that Dino’s summons requests are approved, more condensed so that Dino does not go home several times. All of them are represented by deputies who are also in opposition to the PT administration.
The Comissão de Segurança Pública passed projects on topics dear to the Bolsonarists, such as the fight against drug trafficking and criminal organizations, as well as the commercialization and use of firearms. For this reason, it was one of the most coveted by PL, the party of former president Jair Bolsonaro, in the negotiations by the two collegiate commands.
The justifications for summoning Dino to speak with the deputies are varied. I know them:
- Lula’s decree that restricts the rules of access to firearms and repeals acts instituted by his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, in addition to the changes in area policy;
- The meeting of Dino with favela leaders visiting the Maré complex, in Rio de Janeiro;
- Eventual omissions and failures in public security in Brasília, on January 8 of this year, by the federal government;
- Detail current government projects for public insurance;
- Ministry actions to counter land invasions.
The other requirements that must be analyzed in this third party by the Public Security Commission also seek to convene or invite Lula government authorities. The deputies of the collegiate want to summon the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro, and the Minister of Human Rights, Silvio Almeida, for example.
Daniela looked at two parliamentarians because of alleged relationships with members of militias in Rio de Janeiro and with “companies suspected of crimes in the hiring of cars for their cabinet and campaign and participation of militiamen in the same.”
Silvio must be summoned to speak about statements that he owed about the legalization of drugs and about or respect for the rights of people imprisoned by the Federal Police after the criminal acts of January 8, as women and idiots.
A request requests a technical visit to the prisons of Papuda and Colmeia, in the Federal District, to verify the situation two days ago at the beginning of the year.
The collegiate will still analyze the request for the summons of the Minister of the Institutional Security Cabinet (GSI), Marco Edson Gonçalves Dias, so that he speak about the events of January 8, and eventual privileged information about the event.
Another requirement is that the deputy director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Saulo Moura da Cunha, be invited to speak on the same subject.
The commission may also approve the carrying out of a technical visit to Rio Grande do Norte so that the deputies may harass, in loco, the public security situation of the State.
