The federal deputy and vice-leader of the Partido Novo na Câmara, Marcel van Hattem (RS), spoke in an interview with CNN This Sunday (5) he will support the tax reform of the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in case of a proposal “uncomplicate the system and guarantee lower taxes.”
“If we depend on two opposition representatives, we are not going to let pass a tax reform that worsens our system, which is already very onerous and complicated for those who undertake it. A reform is formed that uncomplicates the system and guarantees lower taxes, even if not in the medium and long term, for the whole society, for the people it supports”, he affirmed.
Another guideline related to the economy commented on by the deputy was the fiscal arcabouço of the country. He highlighted that the total cost was approved by PEC do Esturo — which, among other things, allowed the maintenance of Bolsa Família in R$ 600 — in the National Congress.
In order to parley, the government cannot exchange the previous fiscal rule for “um cordão de amarrar bote”.
“As I warned the Comissão Mista de Orçamento, where I was a full member last year, we cannot exchange a fiscal anchor for a ‘boat mooring cord’. Ou seja, place something so flexible that it does not mean control of real expenses”, he said.
In addition to the opposition’s performance, van Hattem said that one of the group’s priorities should be “the installation of the CPI against the abuse of authority of the STF [Supremo Tribunal Federal] e do TSE [Tribunal Superior Eleitoral].”
“We are already on our way to obtain this week, if everything happens well, as 171 necessary assignments. We are hitting 100 entries this weekend, ”he said.
