Congress has instruments to deal with deputies involved in the Brasília affairs, says lawyer

The lawyer Nelson Wilians affirmed in an interview with CNN At this second fair (30) the National Congress has instruments to deal with the situation of two deputies investigated for their alleged participation in an attack on the Three Powers, which occurred on January 8.

Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), denied last Sunday (29) a feit request by a group of lawyers for the suspension of the possession of deputies allegedly involved with the crimes. In the opinion of Wilians, the minister made the correct decision to reject the action.

“The minister’s decision is correct, there are instruments in the House to deal with these cases. And it would not be the case of an intervention by the Judiciary”, he affirmed.

In the same statement in which he denied the suspension of the two parliamentarians, Alexandre de Moraes stressed that “the conduct of the two deputies must be analyzed within the Ethics Council of the Chamber of Deputies.”

STF leaves controversial issues for the agenda of the semester

The STF published a guideline of rulings for the first semester on controversial issues, such as the decriminalization of abortion, the time frame of indigenous lands and the possibility of judging guarantees.

Nelson Wilians commented on the return of two Judiciary jobs, which takes place in the fourth fair (1st), in the schedule published for the semester.

“In my perception [há assuntos que] They must be discussed in the proper place. And where is the right place? Not our Congress [Nacional]. There are people who are chosen to discuss such topics. The Judiciary must avoid intervening in matters that do not concern him as much as possible. And many times these issues are not pertinent to the Judiciary, but to the Legislative”, he completed.
