Banga will also work to “reimagine strategic partnerships” with other multilateral creditors and development organizations, and will be accompanied by the president of the Inter-American Development Bank, Ilan Goldfajn, during stops in Peru and Jamaica.
“The two leaders will explore opportunities for greater collaboration and coordination to maximize our joint impact on people,” said the World Bank.
Banga is under pressure to expand the lending capacity of the World Bank and reformulate its business model, with the United States and other large investors charging for an expansion of its anti-poverty mission to deal with climate changes, pandemics, food insecurity, fragility and other crises globalis.
