At the time when the government is studying tax incentives for the automotive industry to lower or price two cars, the president of Caixa, Rita Serrano, affirmed that the bank is studying ways to improve the already existing credit line aimed at buying cars. The idea would be to expand the financing for the other two clients of Caixa, today or the public of the program.
Rita Serrano and the president of Banco do Brasil, Tarciana Medeiros, will have a meeting with president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at this sixth fair (26) for a kind of account provision that she has made periodically to the petista and to the minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.
According to the president of Caixa, the loan for the purchase of cars was not the subject of the meeting with Lula, but was negotiated internally at the bank. “We are studying how to improve the product, but the Caixa will not have this car financing operation”, affirmed the leader after meeting at the Palácio do Planalto.
The legal policy adopted by Brazilian public banks was defended by the president of Caixa, who reiterated to practice the lowest legal rates possible within the banking regulations, which do not allow prejudice to operations.
“With this tax rate defined by BC, we don’t have a lot of mobility, we don’t have how to get off the jury”, affirmed Rita Serrano. “What we can do with the regras of the banking regulation, we are doing, practicing the lowest taxes”, she added.
One of the guidelines of the meeting with Lula was the gain of space for the women in the new structure of Caixa. At this sixth fair, the board of directors of the bank chose Maria Cristina Farah as vice-president of Varejo Business, and Lucíola Aor Vasconcelos as Operating Agent.
“A Caixa becomes, from now on, the only Brazilian bank, a few in the world, and one of the few Brazilian companies, which will be in its direction to the majority of women”, says Rita Serrano.
The president of Caixa still announced that, next week, the directors of the bank will publish a commitment against the attack. This is a new measure of governance after a series of complaints of sexual and moral harassment in the management of Pedro Guimarães, who was dismissed from the presidency of Caixa after the scandal and stop at Justice.
