Unanimously, the minister Bruno Dantas was elected in this fourth fair (7) president of the Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU). Minister Veneziano Vital do Rêgo was elected vice-president and corregedor of the Court of Accounts.
In practice, the mandates have a term of one year, with the possibility of renewal for more than one year. The posse will take place in the next fourth fair (14). The new presidency officially enters into exercise as of January 1.
“I am grateful for the trust in me deposited to exercise the next year or office of president of this Court. I know that the challenges for TCU to be able to fulfill all of its powers with excellence are enormous. I am counting on my efforts so that the court can contribute effectively to improve the public administration for the benefit of society”, said Dantas in the session of this fourth.
In July, Dantas became interim president of the court after the departure of the then president, Ana Arraes.
Meanwhile, in the elections, Dantas led a group that audited the electronic ballot boxes and reported, after the elections, that the analysis of two voting systems did not record any inconsistency of incorrect data.
Last week, the elected president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), met with the dean of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), minister Gilmar Mendes, and with Dantas.
According to the feito story CNNthe conversation revolves around, especially, legal issues related to PEC (Proposal of Emenda à Constituição) that draws the Bolsa Família from all expenses.
