Bolsonaro asks deputies and senators to “focus” on the CPMI on January 8

The ex-president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) asked for his base to “focus on the CPMI” two days on the 8th of January. The message was passed to federal deputies and senators by telephone connection, reproduced by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). “Federal personnel there, deputies and senators, we are going to focus on the CPMI because it is really going to free us. I am certain that our party will make a very beautiful year that we see and more beautiful still in 2026”, said Jair Bolsonaro.

In opposition to the Lula government, he gathered the necessary documents and protocols, on February 27, a request for the opening of the commission.

The document now has the names of 194 deputies and 35 senators and asks “the creation of the Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquérito with the purpose of investigating the acts of action and omission that occurred on the last day of January 8 at the Sedes dos Três Poderes da República , in Brasilia”.

At the beginning of the month, in Brasília, Valdemar Costa Neto, president of the party, ruled out the possibility of action by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on reading the request for the installation of the CPMI, which was not carried out in the Senate.

“We are going to solve this problem in the Senate like Rodrigo [Pacheco]. Or Rodrigo will understand that there and will want to respect those assignments that are very important; people clarify this for all Brazilians ”, he affirmed.

Rodrigo Pacheco, President of the Federal Senate, spoke to CNN that the requirements are fulfilled, the requirement must be read and installed to the Comissão.
