The former President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro (PL) accumulated 158 impeachment requests against him during his term, which ended on December 31 of last year.
The requests will lose the objective, because Bolsonaro is no longer the president, and the Chamber of Deputies will finish filing all of them at this terça-feira (31).
The conclusion of this third will occur because a new legislature begins, with two elected parliamentarians in October of the last year in the fourth (1st), and the opening of two legislative works in the fifth (2). The filing follows the rules of the internal regiment for the cases.
At least three requests have never been archived due to technical problems, as an apocryphal document or presented without signature by digital certificate. A majority ficou “em análise”, embora, na prática, estivessem parados.
The first request for impeachment was filed on February 5, 2019, by Antonio Jocelio da Rocha – a common city –, second to the Câmara’s adviser. This was two archived due to technical problems.
The last request was presented on November 8 of last year, by then Senator Jean Paul Prates (PT-RN), who assumed the command of Petrobras this month.
The motivations and justifications for the requests for impeachment are varied, from crimes of responsibility for alleged negligence in the pandemic, attacks on the Judiciary and its members, allegations that there had been electoral fraud due to alleged interference with the Federal Police.
The person responsible for the initial analysis of the two requests is the President of the Chamber. Not the case, Rodrigo Maia (not extinct DEM-RJ), between February 2019 and February 2021, and, then, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), at that week – the native of Alagoas seeks to be re-elected in this fourth post or favorite in dispute.
Two 158 requests for impeachment against Bolsonaro, 66 were filed when Câmara was under Maia’s command. Or remaining, sob or Lira.
Despite never having been an ally of Bolsonaro, Rodrigo Maia did not touch the impeachment requests. Arthur Lira, who was always closest to the ex-president, joining the electoral campaign last year, also did not report the documents.
Now, Lira honors the current President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), and counts on the support of the PT to remain unposted.
Requests for impeachment against Lula
In less than a month after his possession, Lula is aware of two requests for impeachment filed in the Câmara dos Deputados.
They were presented on February 26 and 27 as justification that Lula, on an official trip to Argentina, said that the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff (PT) in 2016 was a coup d’état.
The authors of the two requests are the federal deputies Ubiratan Sanderson (PL-RS) and Evair Vieira de Melo (PP-ES), both allies of Bolsonaro.
According to Câmara, the situation of two requests is “analyzed”. Not so long, at least not in the near future, it will hardly be there.
