The Leilão de privatização da Praça Mineira da Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos, to CBTU Minas, which operates the Metrô de Belo Horizonte, will be on December 22, in B3, according to the edition published on this sixth-feira (23) by Banco Nacional de Economic and Social Development (BNDES), structurer of the process.
The proposals must be delivered days before, on December 19, and the total investments held are R$ 3.8 billion, being R$ 3.2 billion in public resources -~– R$ 2.8 billion from the Union and R $400 million from the government of Minas.
The project is part of the cisão da CBTU Minas da CBTU Brasil, a state-owned company that manages passenger train praças also in other states.
The operator that is auctioned off will become the new controlling shareholder of the business in Belo Horizonte, responsible for operating lines 1 and 2 of the city’s metro.
The leilão or investor will expire who will offer a higher value for the totality of the shares of the company divided by CBTU Brasil.
The R$ 3.2 billion foreseen with public resources will be passed on as the new operator makes the obligatory investments.
As was foreseen in the model discussed in the public consultation process, the investments will be destined to the modernization of Line 1 — 28.1 kilometers long and 19 stations for passageiros —, currently in operation, and its expansion into the future Nova Eldorado station.
The construction of Line 2, which will link the neighborhoods of Calafate and Barreiro — 10.5 km of expansion and 7 new stations — will also be in charge of the winner of the leilão.
