Colombian forward had to be assisted by the medical team after falling helpless on the field
Yony González suffered an apparently serious injury in this Saturday’s meeting between Portimonense and Rio Ave.
The game had to be stopped for the Portimonense medical team to provide assistance to the striker, who fell helplessly on the pitch, and had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher, having been fitted with a neck brace.
At the press conference, at the end of the match, the coach of the Algarve, Paulo Sérgio, assumed concern about the athlete’s clinical condition, and stated that the club’s doctor shared the anxiety caused by the player’s fall on the pitch.
As he left the field, the 28-year-old striker was applauded by the audience at Estádio Municipal de Portimão.
