Where will the Ukrainian troops go in the event of the withdrawal of forces from Bakhmut: the lieutenant of the National Guard explained

Today, Bakhmut itself has a fairly strong echelon defense and no one is going to surrender the city, said Volodymyr Nazarenko.

In case of withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Bakhmut, they will take up defense in pre-prepared, advantageous places in order to effectively destroy the enemy.

Deputy commander of the Svoboda battalion, lieutenant of the National Guard of Ukraine Volodymyr Nazarenko, told about this in an interview with TSN.ua.

Yes, he answered the question about where to go from Bakhmut, if the General Staff does make the appropriate decision, so as not to endanger Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.

“First of all, no one is going to surrender the city. The war is dynamic. Indeed, it is necessary to understand that the priority is the preservation of the life of every Ukrainian soldierinflicting maximum losses on the enemy, destroying the enemy’s combat capability,” Nazarenko noted.

“There is a fairly strong echeloned defense in the city itself. There is also an echeloned defense around Kostyantynivka, Chasovoy Yar and other populated areas. Therefore, in principle, the defense will engage where it is possible, where it is prepared, where it is convenientwhere it is profitable to keep the defense in order to effectively destroy the enemy,” said the lieutenant of the NGU.

He emphasized that the main task of the Ukrainian troops is to inflict such losses on the enemy that he cannot regain his strength. Then the destruction of the Russian army will begin.

“In the conditions of the fact that we are fighting a very dangerous huge enemy that cannot be underestimated, our task is to destroy the enemy in such a multiplicity that he could not recover his strength. That is, it is a multiple of 1 to 6, 1 to 7, 1 to 10. Then the destruction of the army begins, just like the destruction of this private company (“Wagner” – ed.),” explained the deputy commander of the Svoboda battalion.

We will remind, as reported by the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on February 7, the Russian invaders are trying to “push through” Ukrainian defenses in the Lyman and Bakhmut areas, but are suffering heavy losses.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Donetsk OVA, reported that the invaders are trying to surround Bakhmut, using the so-called “tick” tactics, in order to push Ukrainian defenders out of the city.

It should be noted that, according to the American media, high-ranking officials from the United States advised Ukraine to bide its time and move away from Bakhmut in order to wait for weapons and gather resources for the spring offensive. However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi publicly firmly stated that no one is going to withdraw troops from Bakhmut.
