“We welcome the ceasefire declared in Ethiopia”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement on the ceasefire declared in Ethiopia on its social media account.

The statement included the following:

“We welcome the indefinite humanitarian ceasefire declared by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on 24 March 2022.

We consider the ceasefire announcement as a step in the right direction in terms of finding a solution to the conflict, and we expect it to result in lasting peace. We hope that humanitarian aid will be delivered uninterruptedly to Tigray and to all regions in need.”
