“Wagnerivtsi” in Bakhmut is already semi-surrounded: what will happen next with Prigozhin’s mercenaries

The Russian occupiers in Bakhmut are semi-surrounded by the Armed Forces. The expert assessed the situation of “Wagners” in the city.

On May 9, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the “Wagner” PMC, said that his mercenaries may find themselves surrounded. He admitted that the flanks of the invaders were bursting at the seams.

Is there really a threat to the entourage of his fighters, Mykola Malomuzh, an army general and head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine in 2005-2010, told TSN.ua in an interview.

“He (Prygozhin with his “Wagnerians” – ed.) suffered huge losses and it is clear that we inflicted several counterattacks. As our commanders said, the commanders of units that advanced 2 kilometers or more, and this, accordingly, bypassed the “Wagnerians” at the expense of pressure and destruction of representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This is a semi-encirclement.” – said Malomuzh.

The general says that now the Armed Forces can hit the enemy from the sides, while Prigozhin’s mercenaries count on reinforcements, on ensuring a unified formation and a unified front.

“It turned out that it was a failure. Therefore, he (Prygozhin – ed.) says in advance that “yes, we will move into the encirclement”, that he is holding on and that he can even break this encirclement. But he always blackmails in advance and accuses Armed forces, that they (Russian command – ed.) urgently deploy some resources to close this hole near him, because he will not last. In fact, we are going very powerfully today, and he is objectively assessing the situation here. He does not have a big resource for replenishment,” the expert said.

We will remind, the leader of the terrorist private military campaign “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the situation on the flanks around Bakhmut is developing in the worst way for the Russian invaders. According to him, everything that the “Wagnerians” tried to achieve for several months is falling apart at the front in the Bakhmut area, suffering huge losses.
