This Wednesday, students from the Escola Básica da Vilarinha received a visit from the Official Animal Collection Center (CROA) in Porto, within the scope of awareness-raising sessions on animal welfare and responsible adoption, which have taken place since the beginning of the year.
This time, the students of the fourth year of basic school got to know Vagabundo and Violeta.
The initiative, promoted by the sustainability education teams and the Official Animal Collection Centre, aims to show students, for example, how to care for animals and what to do when dealing with loss.
CROA constitutes an important step in terms of public health and the Municipal Plan for the Control and Welfare of Animal Populations of Dogs and Cats (2015), guaranteeing decent conditions for housing and care for these animals, says the Porto City Council.
The Centre, located in Campanhã, replaces the old kennel on Rua de São Dinis, in Carvalhido.
