US embassy promises to destroy Abrams tanks handed over to Kyiv

Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the potential supply of American Abrams tanks to Kyiv, promised that the Russian military would destroy them, like any other Western equipment, if they were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), TASS reports.

He pointed out that in the course of the development of the crisis situation in Ukraine, Washington published various kinds of information in the media many times immediately before the announcement of new significant arms supplies to Kyiv. According to him, the United States is constantly raising the bar for military assistance to its partners, especially against the backdrop of Russia’s new victories.

“There is no doubt that if a decision is made to transfer M1 Abrams to Kyiv, American tanks will be destroyed by our military in the same way as all other samples of NATO equipment are destroyed,” the diplomat said, stressing that the US actions are aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia .

Earlier, a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, retired colonel Douglas McGregor said that the United States is aware of the proximity of the defeat of Ukraine, and Washington needs the supply of tanks to Kyiv only to delay the hostilities.
