“Students should know about the physiological and psychological changes associated with puberty, methods of contraception, unplanned pregnancy, personal safety, know the law and understand the basic principles of the culture of consent,” the text of the petition reads.
The authors of the document emphasized that in the conditions of a huge number of information sources and the unlimited possibilities of the Internet, children alone gain access to videos that are often distorted and promote violence. Due to the lack of information analysis skills, children take everything at face value and do not understand what responsibility they can bear for their actions and inactions.
The authors also note that sex education should reduce the risks of violence, the level of crime and the number of teenage pregnancies.
The course of sex education should be based on the culture of consent to sex, the authors of the appeal add.
At the time of publication, the petition received 6,195 signatures out of the 25,000 required. The collection of signatures will continue for another 86 days.
