Ukraine is preparing for a counteroffensive. The Ministry of Defense explained why they do not disclose details regarding terms and directions.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov noted that they are trying to “communicate as frankly as possible” with the Ukrainians regarding the counteroffensive. However, the Ministry of Defense cannot disclose all plans, because the enemy is closely monitoring it.
He said this in an interview New Voice.
Reznikov noted that it is not possible to disclose plans related to a certain strategic task. This is kept a secret so that the Russian occupiers do not know what exactly the Armed Forces will do. The Minister of Defense emphasized that the enemy is closely monitoring everything and is trying to understand what is waiting for him.
“That’s why we say: yes, there will be a counteroffensive, its task is to weaken the enemy’s defenses, to break through them in certain places, using modern equipment. But we will not say the exact dates, because there are many factors,” Reznikov stressed.
He explained that the counterattack is influenced by many factors, including weather conditions and even the condition of the soil. Therefore, in the end, the General Staff will choose the optimal time, as it happened, for example, in the Kharkiv direction.
We will remind you that the USA believes that the Armed Forces will launch a spring counteroffensive in the coming weeks.
In turn, the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Oleksandr Musienko, added that numerous statements by the leadership of Ukraine and Western allies about the preparation of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces are part of an information war to psychologically pressure the Russian occupiers. As a result, when counteroffensive actions really begin, the demoralized army of the Russian Federation can quickly “fall”.
