The client convinced the hotel staff that it was “not fashionable” to speak Ukrainian.
A Russian-speaking client caused a scandal in one of the hotels in Odesa, calling hryvnias “rubles” and reproaching the staff for speaking Ukrainian. She assured that in Ukraine “there have always been rubles” and the Ukrainian language is “out of fashion”.
The corresponding video was published by local Telegram channels.
As can be seen in the published footage, when choosing breakfast at the hotel, a Russian-speaking woman stubbornly names the prices in rubles. In response to the remark of an employee of the establishment that in Ukraine “there are hryvnias, not rubles”, she self-confidently declared that “rubles and hryvnias are one and the same”.
When they disagreed with her again, the client suggested that the hotel employee was coming because she spoke Ukrainian, and “Odessians always spoke Russian.”
After learning that locals work in the establishment, the woman suddenly accused the hotel employees: “Girl! Well, what about you, have you changed your shoes? It’s a shame! And why do you meet boys and say: “I want you”? Well, it’s a collective farm.”
After the video of this scandalous communication spread on the Internet, the same client apologized for her behavior and tried to convey her position in “unfashionable” Ukrainian.
We will remind, earlier in Odesa, in one of the catering establishments, a female visitor was refused service in Ukrainian.
