The producer of “Bond” said that the agent 007 will serve as a character older than 30 years
Michael J. Wilson, producer of a series of films about British intelligence agent James Bond, spoke about why a young actor will not be able to play the main role in the upcoming films. ScreenRant reports his words.
As Wilson noted, the image of Bond should appear as a man with some experience in military service. In this regard, the producer stressed that the young man would not be suitable for this role. “We used to look at young people. But it doesn’t work that easy. Don’t forget that Bond is already a veteran. He has some experience, he is a man who went through wars. Most likely, he served in the Special Air Service (SAS) or something like that. It’s not some high school kid you can bring in and start filming. That is why this role is more suitable for thirty-year-olds, ”Wilson shared his thoughts.
According to the Bond producers, the search for a candidate for the role of 007 is still ongoing. One of the conditions for choosing an actor, Wilson and his colleague Barbara Broccoli called long-term cooperation with the owners of the franchise. According to them, the artist will have to remain in his role for 10-12 years. Among the favorites for the role of an MI6 agent are still actors Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Rege-Jean Page.
Earlier, actress Léa Seydoux, who played the Bond girl in the films 007: SPECTRE and No Time to Die, admitted her participation in the new film about 007.
