Vasily Koltashov, head of the Center for Political Economic Research, said that an increase in the ceiling of the state debt in the United States cannot guarantee the salvation of the country’s economy from devastating consequences. Izvestia writes about it.

According to him, an increase in the national debt ceiling is the only means that “the American elite can offer at the moment, at least to contain destructive processes.”

At the same time, the political scientist believes that with the next increase in the national debt ceiling in the United States, the principle of “drug addiction” will continue to operate, which destroys the country’s economy.

Koltashov expects real estate prices in the US to continue to decline. In his opinion, this is a sad sign for the country’s economy. He added that all this speaks of the degradation and “profound illness” of economic processes.

Earlier, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Kevin McCarthy said that US President Joe Biden is not making efforts to resolve the situation around the public debt and his inaction could lead the country to the first default in history.
