Neurologist Erokhin spoke about the benefits of sleeping lying on your back
Neurologist Vladimir Erokhin called the position in which a person sleeps on his back one of the most useful and explained its main advantages. It is reported by “Medic Forum”.
According to the specialist, this pose helps to reduce pressure on the spine, which can reduce back and neck pain. It also relieves stress on the head, which helps to protect against headaches. The doctor added that while lying on his back, a person’s breathing is not limited in any way, unlike other sleeping positions, so it becomes possible to achieve deep diaphragmatic breathing.
Finally, pressing the face against the pillow can stretch or wrinkle the skin, resulting in wrinkles, he noted. Lying on the back, this does not happen, and the person also avoids the appearance of creases and skin irritation, Erokhin concluded.
Earlier, German scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research have identified new mechanisms in the cerebral hemispheres during sleep.
