“The matter was in our follow-up with the application of the victim”

    Highlights from Minister Yanık’s statements:

There is no superior benefit that we can protect other than children. In cases of abuse, neglect or violence involving children, our sole aim is to ensure the protection of the child, to be rehabilitated and be well.

As the state, we are obliged to provide whatever the victim needs.

We have been following the issue seriously in a way that will not give rise to discussions, and the highest level of support has been provided by the victim’s application to our institutions, and the confidentiality of his protection has been ensured. This is not a new case for us, we have been involved in this issue since the first day this case came to us.

We are talking about an issue that everyone can be a victim of, so it should not be the stuff of politics. We cannot resolve this issue as a means of political firing. We will not allow these victims to be used as tools of politics.
