There was no official statement from the Ministry of Defense of Russia regarding the incident. The Russian publication Meduza reported that the administration of the President of Russia sent instructions to the Russian mass media about how to write about the severity of bridge damage. It is possible that the Kremlin ordered the Russian Ministry of Defense to remain silent about this situation.

As ISW writes, Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov said that Russia should launch a strike campaign against critical Ukrainian infrastructure instead of “listening to the promises of the Russian Defense Ministry.”

It will be recalled that on October 8, it became known about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge, which caused a large-scale fire. Russian authorities said seven fuel tanks from a railway depot had caught fire, and part of the road surface had collapsed.

After the explosion on the Crimean Bridge the occupiers decided not to sell more than three kilograms of basic necessities to residents in order to “avoid artificial agitation”.

However, the occupying administration of Crimea assures that stocks of essential goods on the peninsula will last up to 55 days, and there are allegedly no reasons for increased demand.

Currently, the Crimean bridge is used, in particular, for the supply of the Russian army in the south of Ukraine. It is an important supply route for the Russian group of troops. The Ukrainian military command spoke several times about the need to destroy it. However, Ukraine admitted that it had no weapons with which to destroy the bridge.
