Now the amount of bail for the accused is 261 million hryvnias.
On Thursday, June 1, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine halved the amount of bail for the ex-head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov – from 523 to 261 million hryvnias.
About this informs Anti-Corruption Center.
“…the VAKS judges partially satisfied the prosecutor’s request to extend the detention period of ex-head of the Federal Security Service Roman Nasirov, who is accused of allegedly receiving a bribe in the amount of UAH 722 million for VAT reimbursement to the companies of agricultural baron Oleg Bakhmatyuk. Instead of the previously set UAH 523 million bail, he now has to contribute UAH 261 million,” the message reads.
If the accused does not post bail, he will remain in custody until at least July 30 of this year. The decision was made by judges Markiyan Galabala, Vitaly Kryklyvy and Viktor Nogachevskyi.
It will be recalled that Nasirov was detained on suspicion of corruption back in 2017. Later, he allegedly had health problems, and therefore was treated for some time at Feofana. At the beginning of 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the SFS from his post.
In November 2019 VAKS began considering the case against the ex-head of the SFS. However, only last year in October, he was arrested with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 523.2 million hryvnias.
Nasirov claimed that he is allegedly unable to make a deposit, as its amount “does not correspond to his property status.” The investigation into the scandalous case was completed in February 2023.
