Maitlin Wolrich asked her boyfriend if he’d cheated, to which he said no, before sending a long confessional text several hours later. As it turned out, the guy started an affair with another man.

She claimed that the “guilt started eating away at him” as he said it happened when he was drunk early in their relationship.

“My first reaction to him cheating was relief. I felt like I was going crazy, suspecting he was hiding something. So when he confessed, I felt less crazy. He also told me that he identifies as bisexual, that it didn’t bother me because I’m bisexual too. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and I thanked him for finally being honest with me,” she shared.

At first, May decided to get her unfaithful boyfriend back to see if the relationship could be mended. But in the end they parted ways.

“He cheated on me at the beginning of our relationship and kept it from me for about half a year. He felt like he had made a huge mistake and wanted to fix it, so I think he kept it a secret. When I told my family that he was cheating on me, they all answered something like “I knew it,” she explained.

Despite the betrayal, the girl called this relationship the best in her life and a great lesson.
