Reddit: taxi service published the personal data of the girl after her complaint about the driver
A Reddit user under the nickname Never-On-Reddit said that she complained to the popular Lyft taxi aggregator about the behavior of a driver who demanded her phone number. The girl considered the reaction that followed this inadequate: after the appeal, the service published her personal data on the network.
“This morning the taxi driver refused to take me unless I gave him my phone number and email address. I felt uneasy, and I canceled the trip, ”the user shared the story. After that, she was faced with the fact that the service refused to return the money for the trip.
After that, the girl wrote a post on Reddit and complained about the taxi aggregator. When the publication gained three million views, representatives of the company contacted her and offered to return the money. Shortly after that, the author noticed that in the comments to her post, Lyft indicated her real name and surname, although this is prohibited by the rules of the portal.
The girl demanded to remove the comment, but the service did it only five hours later. Also, representatives of the aggregator suggested that the girl delete her Lyft account. In response, the heroine of the story, angered by the behavior of the aggregator, recommended that the company better monitor how their employees communicate with customers.
In the comments to the post, many users supported the narrator and condemned the company. “This is just one stage in the fight against a PR disaster,” “All the company had to do was give the girl back those unfortunate five dollars,” they were indignant. At the same time, some wrote that the girl should not have taken out the negativity on the support service operators, because the situation was not their fault.
Earlier, blogger and designer Artemy Lebedev told how a taxi driver refused him a ride and scolded him. The driver explained his actions by personal dislike for the designer. Lebedev added that he wrote a complaint against the driver.
