Former AZLK designer Igor Zaitsev said that the new “Moskvich” has “Chinese”
Former chief designer of the Lenin Komsomol Automobile Plant (AZLK) Igor Zaitsev, who worked at the enterprise from 1974 to 1987, advised changing the look of the new model. This is reported by the publication “Gazeta.Ru”.
According to the specialist, the new Moskvich car has design flaws. “Overall, the car looks good, but there is work to be done. This car has a traditional “Chinese”, – said the expert. – If you look from the side, you will see two oblique stampings on the doors. One of them, from my point of view, is superfluous, it should be removed. There is another solution to this shortcoming – the top line must somehow be connected to the bottom, in other words, visually be closed. You can still slightly change the shape of the bumper.

In addition, Zaitsev noted that the modern Moskvich model has nothing in common with the previous machines of the enterprise. “There is no continuity, no connection with those machines that were produced before. Moreover, earlier there was no crossover in the model range, ”he concluded.
The Moscow plant “Moskvich”, located on the site of the former enterprise of the Renault concern, resumed mass production on November 23. The company plans to produce 600 vehicles this year, of which 200 will be electric.
The first car to be assembled at the enterprise was the Moskvich 3 crossover. The new car and its electric analogue “Moskvich 3e” are variants of the Chinese JAC JS4, follows from the Rosstandart database. The cost of a crossover can range from 27 to 33 thousand dollars (1.6-2 million rubles).
