Kosachev called for sanctions against three ICC judges who issued a warrant against Putin
Federation Council Vice Speaker Konstantin Kosachev called for sanctions against three International Criminal Court (ICC) judges Rosario Salvatore Aytala, Antoine Keziah Mindua and Tomoko Akane, who issued a warrant for the “arrest” of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The corresponding proposal was published in his Telegram channel.
“A sort of “troika” of ICC judges, where all the defendants are clearly unfriendly to Russia … I think it would be fair to immediately add them to the sanctions lists on this basis,” the Russian senator said.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the decision of the ICC, which issued a warrant for the “arrest” of Putin. Scholz said that the ICC is an institution that investigates war crimes. The politician noted that “no one can be above the law.”
On March 17, it became known about the decision of the ICC to issue warrants for the “arrest” of Vladimir Putin and the presidential commissioner for children’s rights, Maria Lvova-Belova. The authorities clarified that the decision was related to the “illegal export of children” from Ukraine.
