Reisi said that they always listen to the voice of the people, “We will not allow the safety of the people to be jeopardized under any circumstances.” used the phrases.
Pointing to the state-sponsored demonstrations held today in response to the protests that have been going on for about a week, Reisi said that these demonstrations represent Iran’s power and honor.
The death of the young woman after being taken into custody aroused indignation
The death of Mahsa Emini on September 16, who was taken to the hospital in a coma after being detained by the Irshad patrols known as the “morality police” in Tehran on September 13, caused outrage in the country.
In a statement made by the Tehran police after the reaction, it was stated that the Irshad patrol took Emini to the police station for a one-hour “briefing”, and the young woman was transferred to the hospital after she suddenly lost consciousness and suffered from a heart condition.
In the footage broadcast on Iranian state television, it is seen that Emini suddenly fell to the ground after she was brought to the police station and talked to an officer.
Activists on social media reject the police statement that the young woman “suddenly” lost consciousness, claiming that Emini was beaten before she was brought to the police station.
After Emini’s funeral, held in her hometown of Sakkız on September 17, protests broke out in Tehran and cities in the west of the country. The demonstrations then spread across the country.
According to unofficial figures, it is stated that 26 people, including security forces, have lost their lives in the events that have turned into violence so far.
