“We want to expand controls and introduce new export restrictions, especially on dual-use items. They include basic chemicals, neurotoxic substances, electronic and computer components that can be used for the Russian military machine,” von der Leyen said in a statement.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission said that the new package of sanctions would include a ban on Russia’s access to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including through third countries. In addition, she proposed blocking four Russian TV channels without specifying their names.
On November 24, von der Leyen, during an official visit to Finland, announced that the European Union was developing a ninth package of anti-Russian sanctions. “We will not rest until Ukraine has won the victory over the illegal and barbaric war [президента России Владимира] Putin,” she said.
