Shapovalov not only knew about the facts of the supply of low-quality products, but also exerted pressure on his subordinates.

State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion to the recently dismissed Deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov involved in the purchase of products at inflated prices and low-quality ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

About this reported in the DBR.

Shapovalov was responsible for the rear support of the Armed Forces and lobbied for the conclusion of contracts about the supply of products for the military at inflated prices, as well as purchase of low-quality body armor, helmets, clothing and other items for the needs of the Armed Forces for a total amount of more than UAH 1 billion. All contracts were concluded with a full subscription.

He not only knew about the facts of supplying low-quality products, but also exerted pressure on subordinates for the acceptance of low-quality products in military warehouses and the organization of repeated laboratory tests of armor plates that did not pass the initial tests.

At the same time, he ignored the appeal of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the need to ensure proper acceptance control over the quality of products.

Shapovalov reported the suspicion of obstructing the legal activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations – Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.

As part of the criminal proceedings of the SBI, 17 searches are being conducted at various addresses, large sums of cash and many other things that can serve as evidence in the case have already been seized.

The investigation continues, the full range of persons involved in the embezzlement is being established.
