The court in Ryazan will consider behind closed doors the high-profile case of the murder of Elena Logunova
The court in Ryazan will consider in closed session the high-profile case of the murder of a local resident Elena Logunova, who disappeared more than a year ago. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The husband of the deceased, Alexander Logunov, will appear before the court. In addition to the massacre of his wife, he is charged with the distribution of pornography. According to the investigation, in July 2021, Logunov quarreled with Elena in his apartment, after which he strangled her. Then he hid the body of the deceased in the floodplain of the Tysya River in the Ryazan region. In addition, in the period from 2016 to 2018, Logunov published porn videos on the Internet.
After the disappearance of the Russian woman, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the murder. Search activities were unsuccessful. The courtyard of the multi-storey building where the Logunovs lived is equipped with CCTV cameras, but Elena did not get on any of them. But her husband, on the day of his wife’s disappearance, was actively moving around the city, having managed to visit the cemetery and the industrial zone several times. Initially, the investigators did not find evidence against Logunov, but the lawyer of the missing woman sought his interrogation for a year.
On August 30, 2022, Alexander Logunov was detained on suspicion of killing his wife. It was reported that during the arrest the man tried to escape.
On October 7, in the suburbs of Ryazan, the body and jewelry of the victim were found. Logunov confessed to his deed and, when checking the testimony on the spot, indicated where he hid the body of the murdered woman. This information coincided with the location of the discovery of the remains of Elena Logunova.
